Due to continued technical misfortune on the part of the mods (involving large trees becoming very friendly with power lines) claims has been pushed back to July 14th. We're incredibly sorry for the schedule change, although we're sure some of you will be happy to know that the entire schedule has been pushed back by increments to accommodate the change. The new schedule can be found here.

The claims post will remain up for preview here for the rest of the week. We are hosting another poll to determine what time would be best to unlock claims on the new date. This poll, like the first, will be run by PST. (Check the time here.)

Firstly, an apology. The mods have had some serious technical difficulties in the past several weeks and couldn't send out confirmation emails for the messages we received at third check ins. Hopefully we've gotten everything sorted out now and you will be receiving an email when we receive your rough draft.

Now, ideally everyone is going to submit a draft that is a minimum of 10,000 words long. However, we know things happen, so here's how it's going to work: If you have less than the 10k word count at this time and you sincerely believe that you will be able to finish your fic and have it read by the time posting starts on August 21st, then you may submit what you have completed along with any outlines and notes that accompany your work.

If you've messaged a mod previously about circumstances that will impact your work, then we have made a note for you and you will also need to submit a draft and notes. If at this time you are not sure of your ability to finish or would like to talk about your posting options, please don't hesitate to contact us. It is unkind to any artist who might claim your story if you are unable to finish by deadline.

Submissions go like this:
 • You'll be sending your fic to superwholockmods@gmail.com
 • Your subject line should read "Rough Draft Submission - Username."
Please fill out this form (and keep the coding) as the body of your email

Username:
Word Count:
Completed Percentage:
Title:
Type:
Characters/Pairings:
Warnings:(non con, mpreg, etc)
Summary:(no more than three paragraphs)

Add your fic as an attachment to the email. It should be submitted as a .doc file, although .docx, .rtf. and googledocs are also acceptable. If you are submitting a googledoc make sure it is publicly viewable.

It's imperative that you include a concise summary of your fic, as that is what will be posted when artists begin to claim your works. Please make sure you included warnings for any triggering themes that your fic utilizes. If at this time you believe you will be unable to finish you work by the end of August, please message a mod with your username and state your desire to drop out.

When we receive your email we will send you a confirmation. You have until 11:59 PST on July 5th to submit your draft. Tomorrow (July 1st) a poll will be posted to determine what time claims will go up on the 6th. Please vote for any and all claims times that would be convenient for you.

09 June 2012 @ 02:39 pm

It's time for our third and final author checkpoint. Keep in mind this checkpoint is mandatory. You have until 11:59 PST on Wednesday, June 13th to send in your response. This is not rough draft submission, this is mearly to make sure that everyone is on track to finish. If you're having trouble feel free to check out the resources & support post.

This checkpoint will work differently than the first two. This time you'll be sending your information in instead of making a comment response. Please send an email including the following information with the heading "SWL Checkpoint 3 - Username" to superwholockmods@gmail.com. You will receive a confirmation email once we've recorded your information.

Username: (The one you signed up with)
Wordcount: (Including any outlines or notes)
Concerns: (Any foreseeable problems you have with the schedule etc etc.)

If you are writing with a coauthor, please choose one person to send in your email and make sure you include both of your usernames.

If at this time you feel you will not be able to complete the challenge by August 17th, please send us an email informing us of your desire to drop out.

Everyone else, please make sure you're familiar with the schedule and good luck! We've reached the two month mark, only a little longer now.

This is the SuperWhoLock Big Bang support post! This post will stay open throughout the challenge and serve as a place for authors and artists alike to post anything from ideas to issues in relation to big bang. If you have any little questions about show canon, characterization (we know Sherlock can be difficult,) art style, or if your just in need of a little encouragement, this is the place to ask your fellow participants for their opinions or reassurance.

In addition to any support you receive from your fellow participants, the mods have compiled a list of resources for you to pursue at your leisure. If you know of any other relevant resources, please don't hesitate to share.
